Sammy is an 11-year-old Chihuahua looking for a home. This senior guy is an absolute love bug who enjoys being around his people. He is a little shy at first with new people, but once he warms up, he solicits attention. Sammy is a little couch potato who would like nothing more than to sit on your lap while you watch TV together. Even though he loves to lounge, we recommend his new family take him on daily walks to keep his weight under control.

His adoption fee includes his neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, waived enrollment fee for medical insurance from PetFirst and a license for residents in the city limits of Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, Escondido, Imperial Beach, Oceanside, Poway, San Diego, San Marcos, Santee, Solana Beach and Vista.

Sammy is available for adoption at San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus at 5500 Gaines Street. To learn more about making him part of your family, please call (619) 299-7012.

President and CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, Dr. Gary Weitzman has written a new book that has been published by National Geographic. The book titled The Complete Guide to Pet Health, Behavior and Happiness is a comprehensive and easy-to-use illustrated pet reference book that offers expert advice on common health, behavior, and training for cats, dogs, and other domestic pets. The adopting family of Sammy will bet a free copy of the book to take home!
