Shop Local | Goldie Pops Gourmet Popcorn

The journey of locally made Goldie Pops began with a man named Lowell more than 25 years ago when he started making popcorn for family and close friends.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — So here's the deal, the other weekend I was visiting the Hillcrest Farmer's Market when I stumbled upon a popcorn stand. Now, I'm a fan of popcorn, however I wasn't enticed to pull out my credit card to buy some until -- wait for it -- I saw DILL PICKLE flavored popcorn! Yes, dreams do come true.

The journey of locally made Goldie Pops began with a man named Lowell more than 25 years ago when he started making popcorn for family and close friends.  Fast forward to April 2019 when Lowell's mother Goldie, who was 93 years old at the time, asked her son when he was finally going to launch his popcorn business. Lowell's response? Right now! So, Goldie Pops was born.

Lowell started in one of the largest Farmer's Markets in San Diego and now you can find him in the top five local markets.

Lowell says he uses non GMO coconut oil, Himalayan salt, organic sugar and all natural flavors.

Right now he has flavors like Dill Pickle, Salt & Vinegar, San Diego Blend, cinnamazing and Nacho Jalapeno.

The packaging is a gold mylar resealable bag. Lowell says the popcorn is best served ICE GOLD (COLD) right out of the freezer. Because (as he says) once the temperature drops, the flavor POPS!

And of course, Lowell named his business after his mom Goldie, who is 94 years old right now.
