SPRING VALLEY (CNS) - Three people were robbed at gunpoint Saturday in Spring Valley and Bonita, and sheriff's deputies and San Diego police arrested arrest two men in connection with the crimes, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., two male victims were robbed near the 500 block of Osage Street. The suspect was described as a black man with a handgun who wore a white hooded sweatshirt, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Christopher Davis.

The thief allegedly hit and pistol-whipped one victim, Davis said. The armed suspect fled in a red two-door Honda with a black male driver, and the victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

And 10 minutes after the first assault, a girl was robbed at gunpoint in a parking area in the 5000 block of Cedarwood Road in Bonita by a man whose description was similar, Davis said.
Shortly after that, a deputy stopped the suspect vehicle near the intersection of Worthington Street and Paradise Valley Road, Davis said. The driver, identified as Herman Jones, 26, was taken into custody.

The passenger, Omar Abdulle, 19, ran from the scene, and led San Diego police officers on a foot chase through a residential neighborhood, evading initial capture, Davis said.

Police called in a helicopter and found the suspect hiding under a nearby home, Davis said.
The suspects were identified by the victims and numerous stolen items were recovered, Davis said.
