FALLBROOK (CNS) - San Diego sheriff's deputies were searching for two men and a woman suspected of assaulting a man in his Fallbrook home with a ceramic lamp, a sergeant said.

The attack was reported at 7:53 a.m. Friday at a home in the 400 block of Debby Street, said Sgt. Edward Jackson.

A 42-year-old man told deputies that two men assaulted him, according to Jackson.

"During the assault, one of the suspects, or possibly the victim's ex-girlfriend, struck the victim over the head with a ceramic lamp," Jackson said. "The victim received a laceration to his head." The victim fought back, Jackson said. "He grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the men twice in the torso in self-defense."

The victim's roommate heard the fight, and struck one assailant on the back with a chair, Jackson said. The assailant stomped on the roommate's left foot, grabbed the victim's knife and ran out the front door with the other suspect and the victim's ex-girlfriend, the sergeant said.

Paramedics treated the victim and his roommate at the scene for their injuries, he said.
