EL CAJON (CNS) - Seven people were displaced Monday following a fire at an El Cajon triplex, authorities said.

The fire at 5055 Thorne Drive broke out about 3 p.m. Sunday and was knocked down within some 10 minutes of firefighters arriving on scene, according to El Cajon city spokeswoman Monica Zech.

"The quick response kept the fire from reaching nearby homes," she said.

One resident suffered a minor burn but chose not to go to a hospital, Zech said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

The residents of all three units were displaced and receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, according to Zech.
