DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - The U.S. Navy says it has recovered the body of an American sailor who fell overboard in the Gulf of Oman.
A search was launched Tuesday evening after the sailor was reported missing from the San Diego-based destroyer USS Halsey. The Bahrain-based U.S. 5th Fleet said the sailor's body was recovered Wednesday.
The identity of the sailor hasn't been released.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A sailor aboard a San Diego-based guided-missile destroyer was reported missing at sea Tuesday in the Gulf of Oman.
After the sailor failed to report for watch aboard the USS Halsey, helicopters and airplanes conducted a search, according to the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet.
The sailor's name was not released.
The Halsey is named after World War II Adm. William F. "Bull" Halsey, and is part of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln Strike Group.
