SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Police Officers Association held a fundraiser Thursday to mark three years since the death of Officer Jeremy Henwood.
Henwood was shot and killed while sitting in his patrol car in City Heights in August of 2011.
As a final act of kindness before his death, Henwood bought food at McDonald's for a child he had never met. That McDonald's, which is located on Fairmount Avenue, will host Thursday's fundraiser from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the San Diego Police Officers Association Widows and Orphans Fund.
Police officials also held a remembrance ceremony at nearby Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park.
