SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - In the wake of a deadly boat collision that killed an eight-year-old boy, the Coast Guard has set up a safety zone for Sunday's San Diego Bay Parade of Lights.

The Coast Guard says the zone includes waters within 150 yards of the parade route which begins along Shelter Island and ends near the Coronado ferry terminal.

That means all boats and personal watercraft can't enter or anchor inside the safety zone between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Two years ago, Anthony DeWeese was killed when the boat he was on was hit by a Coast Guard vessel.
