SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of educators gathered on the Qualcomm campus Thursday for the second annual STEAM Connect conference.

The event features speakers, exhibits and hands-on workshops in STEAM studies -- science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

The goal of the conference is offer up different ideas on how to make math and technology subjects more appealing to students.

"Putting some creativity behind the approach, so that it's not intimidating, it can be exciting, it can be fun and it can be artful," Kim Richards of STEAM Connect said.

The STEAM Connect conference continues Friday.
