Federal agents raid 5 locations including a home in Rancho San Diego investigating suspected money laundering

At least three people were detained, but were later released, according to authorities.

SAN DIEGO — An investigation into a suspected money laundering conspiracy led to a residential search warrant being executed Wednesday at a home in the 2000 block of Vista Hermosa Way in Rancho San Diego. According to a Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson a total of five search warrants were served including four in San Diego and one in Los Angeles.

The spokeswoman said she had no further details to release about the
searches, including exactly where they occurred.

Neighbors in Rancho San Diego told News 8 they heard flash bangs during the raid there and saw residents being taken into custody.

San Diego Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson, Lauren Mack, released the following statement:

"San Diego Homeland Security is executing a residential search warrant and since this is an ongoing law enforcement operation we cannot provide additional comment at this time."

Mack later issued the following update: 

"Federal agents with San Diego Homeland Security Investigations executed state search warrants at five locations in furtherance of an ongoing investigation into a suspected money laundering conspiracy. No arrests have been made."
