Body found on Cardiff property identified as missing Encinitas woman

ENCINITAS, Calif. — The San Diego County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday identified a woman whose body was located on a property in Cardiff on Tuesday night. The body of Encinitas woman Sabrina Lukosky was found after a neighbor reported a foul odor in the area. 

Sheriffs say an autopsy performed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office also determined the 43-year-old's manner of death to be homicide. Lukosky was previously reported missing the sheriff's department on Oct. 3. 

Police haven't released information on how the woman died or possible suspects.

On Tuesday, authorities responded to the 1200 block of Summit Avenue in the Cardiff area of Encinitas after someone reported a foul smell. Deputies conducted an investigation and obtained a warrant to search a residence on that street. 

At approximately 5:15 p.m., the warrant was served and detectives located the body of an adult woman - later determined be Lukosky - in a smaller structure behind the main residence. 

According to friends, Lukosky lived on the property with her boyfriend and the boyfriend’s mother.

Friends and family said no one had heard from Lukosky for nearly three weeks.

“She is and will always be a beautiful person. She means the world to a lot of people,” said one of Lukosky’s friends.
