SAN DIEGO — A 25-year-old man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of firing a gunshot inside a chicken wing restaurant near San Diego State University.

Raul Filimon and a friend got into an argument with two men for unknown reasons inside Dirty Birds Bar and Grill, 6499 El Cajon Blvd., around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, San Diego police Officer Scott Lockwood said.

Filimon pulled out a handgun and fired it at the two men, missing them but sending the bullet through a wall where two cooks were working in the kitchen, Lockwood said.

All four men involved in the argument fled, but officers located Filimon and the handgun in the 4700 block of Seminole Drive a short time later, he said.

He was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to jail records. He was being held on $332,000 pending arraignment, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
