VALLEY CENTER (CNS) - A 35-year-old triathlete who was riding his bike and struck by a car last Sunday has died from his injuries.
Scott Folck of San Diego, an avid cyclist and triathlete training for an upcoming triathlon, was struck by a car and thrown to the ground while riding his bicycle along Cool Water Ranch Road and Wood Valley Road, according to the county Medical Examiner.
Folck was transported to Palomar Medical Center with multiple, significant blunt-force injuries.
"Despite aggressive surgical and medical intervention, his condition continued to decline," the Medical Examiner reported. "He subsequently succumbed to his injuries and death was pronounced."
