FALLBROOK (CNS) - An unidentified man found gravely wounded outside a North County fast-food restaurant died in a hospital early Wednesday.
Someone at the Carl's Jr. on South Mission Road in Fallbrook made an emergency call about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday to report an apparent homicide victim lying in a parking area outside the business, Lt. Dennis Brugos said.
Medics airlifted the man, who appeared to have suffered "stab-type wounds," to a trauma center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The motive for the deadly assault was unclear, according to Brugos.
"As it is early in this investigation, the circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown at this time," the lieutenant said.
Detectives were trying to positively identify the victim, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, Brugos added.
