SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - On Tuesday, firefighters in Encinitas received a big "thank You" from the owners of a dog they rescued from a cliff.

Murphy is a 13-year-old yellow Lab who got stuck 100-feet down a cliff. He had wondered off during his morning walk on Sunday.

Firefighters were able to get down to him and pull him back up.

On Tuesday, Murphy and his owners stopped by with home-made cookies to thank them for their efforts.

Firefighters reminded pet owners to always call them in those types of situation, and to not attempt a cliff rescue with out their help.
