POWAY – (CBS 8) A test run for a dog park leaves many softball players, neighbors pitted against dog owners in Poway.

A proposed limited off-leash dog park at Silverset Park that would have been shared with the softball field was denied by city council members Tuesday night.

The plan called for a six-month trial park costing $31,000 for an environmental study, 2 dugouts, signage and dog bag dispensers.

The council rejected the plan 4-1.
