SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities Sunday identified a 65-year-old man who was killed when his truck slammed into a tree in University City, shortly after it was involved in a hit-and-run crash.
Gary Joel Rosenburg of San Diego suffered fatal injuries from a crash on Governor Drive and Stresemann Street about 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Rosenburg's white Dodge Ram went over a center divide and struck a tree.
He was transported to a hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
About 2:20 p.m., Rosenberg's truck rear-ended a truck on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in the 3900 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, and was driven from the scene, San Diego police said.
The Dodge was spotted about 30 minutes later driving down the raised center divide on Governor Drive and Stresemann Street, police said.
Rosenburg was married and lived with his family in San Diego.
