SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego County Board of Supervisors Wednesday will receive expert opinions on the state of the region's water supply.

Gary Arant of the Valley Center Municipal Water District; Darrell Gentry of the Vallecitos Water District; Scott Maloni of Poseidon Resources, which is developing a desalination plant in Carlsbad; and Dr. Daniel Tartakovsky, an associate professor at UC San Diego who studies groundwater, will be part of a panel discussion on water.

Drought conditions and a court-imposed reduction in imports from Northern California have forced cutbacks to consumers in recent years.

However, last month's storms raised area reservoirs and increased the snowpack in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
