SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Crews made quick work of a brush fire in Sorrento Mesa Thursday afternoon.

The flames broke out around 1:30 p.m. off Camino Santa Fe and Miratech Drive.

The fire blackened about two-and-a-half acres of brush, but did not cause damage to any structures.

Crews attacked the flames from the air and ground and had it under control within 45 minutes.

The cause remains under investigation, but witnesses reported seeing several people walk out of the canyon a few minutes before the fire and arson investigators arrived on scene.
