EL CAJON (CNS) - A two-alarm fire damaged a thrift store in El Cajon Friday night, but no one was injured.

The fire was reported just after 9 p.m. at 941 Broadway, said city spokeswoman Monica Zech.

A second alarm was requested because the shop was in a strip mall, she said.

Firefighters knocked down the blaze in about 20 minutes, she said.

Businesses on either side of the thrift store sustained minor smoke damage, Zech said.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
