SAN YSIDRO (CBS 8) - San Diego firefighters rescued four suspected illegal immigrants on Wednesday night, who had been trapped in a sewer pipe just feet from the border for approximately 18 hours.
Crews used a crowbar to pry open several locked manholes on the U.S. side, near E. San Ysidro Blvd. and Camino De La Plaza. They found the four men stuck underneath.
Rescuers stripped the suspects down and hosed them off before transporting one of the men to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
The other three were taken into custody.
