SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Sunday to its highest amount since Sept. 8, increasing 1.3 cents to $3.81.
The average price has increased 23 of the past 24 days, rising 69.8 cents, including 1 cent on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price rose 19 consecutive days, dropped three-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, then resumed rising on Thursday.
The average price is 5.4 cents more than one week ago and 66.2 cents higher than one month ago, but 40.4 cents less than one year ago.
Experts attribute the rising prices to a reduced supply caused by problems at refineries.
