SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Earlier this year, we profiled a Laguna Beach man who scored a role in the movie "American Sniper".

Now, that Hollywood actor landed a much bigger part in Bill Murray's latest film, "Rock the Kasbah".

After making 70 appearances in films and on television, Fahim Fazli says he is living the dream.

"[It's the] American dream. God bless America,” said Fazli.

As a boy, Fazli escaped from Afghanistan and came to the United States where he became an actor.

In American Sniper, Fazli worked with Bradley Cooper and Clint Eastwood. In "Charlie Wilson's" war, he crossed paths with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. But in his latest film, Fazli landed a role in "Rock the Kasbah" with Bill Murray.

"I work with the king of Hollywood. He's such a great guy," said Fazli . "This the first time I’m not the terrorist.”

On camera, Fazli often plays the frustrated bad guy. But off the camera, he has a softer side.

That positive energy has Fazli rubbing elbows with Bruce Willis, Zoey Deschanel and Kate Hudson.

"I will be honest with you, that was my dream," said Fazli .
