Homeless man stabs man outside OB taco shop

A homeless man in his 50s was in custody Monday on suspicion of stabbing a man in his 20s outside an Ocean Beach taco shop, police said.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A homeless man in his 50s was in custody Monday on suspicion of stabbing a man in his 20s outside an Ocean Beach taco shop, police said.

The stabbing occurred in the 5000 block of Newport Avenue shortly before midnight, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said in a statement.

The victim told police he and the homeless man exchanged words before the suspect fled briefly and returned with a knife, according to Delimitros. He suffered a non-life-threatening wound to the chest, he said.

The suspect was arrested a couple blocks away. His name was not immediately released.
