SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of workers, labor leaders and immigrants rights activists marched in downtown San Diego Wednesday to commemorate May Day.
The May Day March is part of an international day of action to support workers' rights. Similar events were held in other cities around the nation and throughout the world.
Organizers also used Wednesday's rally in San Diego to call for immigration reform.
"So many workers are being faced with losing their jobs because of their immigration status as well, so it's tied into both things -- immigration and to support all the different types, scopes of work," Moses Cuevas of United Domestic Workers said.
Other rallies were also held around San Diego County.
