ENCINITAS, Calif. — A man, who was identified as the boyfriend of Sabrina Lukosky – who was found dead this week at a Cardiff residence – was arrested in Riverside County on Friday.
"The facts revealed during the investigation pointed to a 41-year-old Encinitas man as the suspect," Blevins said. "He was identified as the victim's boyfriend, Henry Simon Cowen."
Sheriff's homicide detectives obtained a warrant for Cowen's arrest and he was taken into custody Friday afternoon by a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of murder, Blevins said.
On Tuesday, Cardiff residents reported a foul odor coming from a residence in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue. After conducting an investigion and carrying out a search warrant, the body of Sabrina Lukosky found.
According to friends, Lukosky lived on the property with Cowen and his mother. Friends and family said no one had heard from Lukosky for nearly three weeks. She was reported missing to the sheriff's department on Oct. 3.
Sheriffs said an autopsy performed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office determined the 43-year-old's manner of death to be homicide.
“She is and will always be a beautiful person. She means the world to a lot of people,” said one of Lukosky’s friends.
Cowen is facing a murder charge and is being held without bail. He is expected to be in court on Tuesday.
