The Junior League of San Diego is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, and to celebrate they will perform 90 continuous hours of service.

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - The Junior League of San Diego is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, and to celebrate they will perform 90 continuous hours of service. The non-stop weekend long event will bring community members together to give back to various partners.

The event will kick off at 6 a.m. on Friday February 8 and will end on Tuesday February 12 at 12 a.m.

Some of the volunteer activities that are planned will include serving meals at Father Joe’s Villages and Ronald McDonald House, packing food at the San Diego Food Bank, designing Valentine’s Day cards with St. Paul’s Villa residents and cleaning up parks with I Love A Clean San Diego. If you sign up for an overnight shift you could work on projects such as packing lunch bags and sewing tote bags for rehab patients, to ensure all members stay safe.

Joni Flaherty and Libby Lopez from Junior League of San Diego along with volunteers, Amy, Nancy and Leticia joined Morning Extra to talk about this awesome volunteer opportunity.
