SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The hit and run death of a cyclist by a suspected drunk driver is weighing heavily on the minds of bicyclists around San Diego, many of whom hit the streets Friday in the name of safety.
On Wednesday, 64-year Arthur Jacobs was killed while riding his bike to work in Carlsbad. Julianne Thomson, 23 years old, was arrested.
Many people took part in the "Critical Mass" bicycling event Friday night that reflected on the tragedy.
Jacobs' family has set up a special fund in his honor designed to help kids in the community, one of Jacobs' passions.
