SAN DIEGO — Crews make quick work of a brush fire that broke out early Monday morning in the 10000 block of Channel Road, according to the Lakeside Fire Department.
The fire happened just before 8 a.m. Plumes of black smoke could be seen in the area. There are no reports of structural threats.
It appeared the fire may have been started by a homeless encampment, based on the debris burning in the brush, according to fire officials.
The fire is under investigation.
