SAN DIEGO — Some former residents of Skid Row in Los Angeles have turned to running marathons to help them turn their lives around.
The Skid Row Running Club was set up to support those in the Skid Row community who have struggled with drug addiction and homelessness
Members of the club were featured in a new documentary Skid Row Marathon, which was premiered for inmates at Donovan Correctional Facility.
Members of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Services along with L.A. County Superior Court Judge Mitchell were there to help the premiere. They even ran a tribute lap with the club around one of the facility’s yards.
