Monthly event hosts one-stop-shop for COVID-19 vaccines and U.S. citizenship

Organizers are calling the event a one-stop-shop for community resources.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — On Saturday, a community event catered toward people wanting to get their choice of COVID-19 vaccines, masks, sanitizer, and even an opportunity to learn how to become a U.S. citizen.

The monthly event allows local San Diegans access to get the Moderna, Pfizer or J&J vaccines, including the COVID-19 boosters. Not to mention, people can also learn how to become a U.S. citizen.

Organizers are calling the event a one-stop-shop for community resources. Partnering with Better San Diego and the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council.

There are many items available, including COVID-19 protective gear, feminine hygiene products, and diapers.

The event also features a free workshop to the public with information on how to apply with an immigration lawyer and mailing help as well.

"There's almost the lowest 200,000 people in the county not applying every day. Becoming a citizen is a big deal if you're a citizen you're more likely to buy a house, go to college, more likely to start a business," said Alor Calderon, Director of the Program of Labors Training and Community Development Alliance.

The event is located at 4265 Fairmont Ave, San Diego, 92105 in City Heights near El Cajon Blvd. The event is every second to the last Saturday of each month.
