TEMECULA, Calif. — Movie awards season is all wrapped up for another year, so you may be searching for some way to check out new movies. Well, you’re in luck!
The 7th Annual California American Indian & Indigenous Film Festival kicks off on Thursday in Temecula at Pechanga Resort Casino.
The film festival shows movies, documentaries and other on-screen works that are all done by native artists. They incorporate native filmmakers, documentarians, native actors, directors, and producers. Many of the stories in the movies deal with issues central to us, but they deal with things everyone goes through – love, loss, happiness -- and several of the films are simply really fun ones that have nothing to do with issues.
The event will be held at Pechanga Casino from Thursday, February 20 through Saturday, February 22.
Filmmaker Brad Munoa dropped by Morning Extra to talk about the family-friendly event.
