SAN DIEGO — Emilio Carranza-Davis grew up in the foster care system. Now, the Cal State San Marcos student and Carolyn Griesemer, the co-founder of Children's Legal Services of San Diego, are trying to make life better for these kids.

Children are usually given a trash bag to carry their belongings in when they go from foster home to foster home. Carranza-Davis and Griesemer give children suitcases instead of trash bags through their "Trash the Bag" program.
