SAN DIEGO —
If you were downtown on Friday, you may have seen people parked where you'd expect to see cars.
"Parking day" is part of an effort to re-imagine public space and a world with more human connections. It's a holiday in which residents are encouraged to transform metered parking spaces into miniature, temporary parks.
The event is a partnership between Downtown San Diego and Lyft.
The parking spaces are on the corner of B and Seventh streets.
New 8’s Chris Porco went to check it out.
