RV park residents in Imperial Beach facing displacement

"We are going to be out on the streets. We are going to be part of the homeless people here in Imperial Beach," said a resident.

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. — More than 100 families could soon lose their homes in order to make way for vacation rental condos.

Residents of the Siesta RV Park in Imperial beach were notified earlier this year that the property's owner plans to redevelop the land.

"I fought for my country, I sure as hell can fight for my little trailer," said a resident.

Many of those who would be displaced are elderly, disabled or on fixed incomes. On Thursday, they banded together at a spcial town hall to try and fight for their right to stay.

"We are going to be out on the streets. We are going to be part of the homeless people here in Imperial Beach," said another resident.
