SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Blood Bank will host blood drives on Tuesday at multiple Broken Yolk Cafe locations around the county, part of its holiday season blood donation campaign.

The donation drives are part of the blood bank's Season of Giving campaign, an effort to replenish depleted blood supplies around the county at a time of the year when donations are often greatly needed. Donation drives will also be held at multiple Broken Yolk locations on Wednesday.

The campaign will continue through January and offer various incentives to donors like coupons and T-shirts. The blood bank and San Diego County Credit Union offered free tickets to the SDCCU Holiday Bowl during a donation event last week.

Residents who donate blood at Broken Yolk locations on Tuesday and Wednesday or at any donor center through Dec. 13 will receive a voucher for a free entree of up to $14 at any Broken Yolk Cafe location.

Eligible donors must be age 17 or older, at least 114 pounds and in general good health. The blood bank advises that donors eat a hardy meal and stay hydrated before donating. Prospective donors are also required to show picture identification before donating.

Residents are advised to schedule an appointment to donate blood, but it is not required. Prospective donors can schedule an appointment and find donation center locations at sandiegobloodbank.org/easter or by calling 800-469- 7322.

All blood drives are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Donations will be collected at the restaurant's Del Mar, Escondido, Mission Valley, Plaza Bonita, Point Loma and Rancho San Diego Locations. A full list of all Season of Giving events can be found at sandiegobloodbank.org/join-us-our-season-giving.
