EL CAJON (CNS) - A Lakeside man accused in a series of daytime burglaries in an East County neighborhood pleaded not guilty Wednesday to three charges and was ordered held on $50,000 bail.
Shane Michael Greisofe, 25, was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. Monday outside an El Cajon gas station in the 700 block of Mollison Avenue, sheriff's Sgt. Tom Poulin said.
Greisofe is suspected in a series of at least a dozen "brazen" break-ins at homes in the unincorporated East Los Coches area near Lakeside in the last three months, according to Poulin. All the crimes occurred during the morning or early afternoon hours, he said.
The defendant is charged with one count each of felony residential burglary, felony grand theft and misdemeanor vandalism. He is charged in a separate case with possession of a controlled substance.
Greisofe faces up to seven years and eight months in prison if convicted, said Deputy District Attorney Shanish Aloor.
Judge Charles Ervin set a readiness conference for Dec. 14 and a preliminary hearing for Dec. 20.
