SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police Saturday sought a bearded Hispanic man who was missing an eyebrow, and two accomplices, for the sexual assault of a woman in a Barrio Logan park.
The victim was seated at a picnic table at Chicano Park in the early morning hours of Dec. 3 when she was approached by three male suspects, according to San Diego police.
Two of the suspects pushed the woman down on the bench and held her down while the third suspect sexually assaulted her, police said.
A passing vehicle's headlights startled the suspects and they abandoned the assault then fled on foot through the park, police said.
Police on Friday released a sketch of the primary suspect who was described as a Hispanic male in his late 30s or early 40s, between 5 feet- 11 inches and 6 feet tall who weighed more than 260 pounds and had a "big belly." He had short hair, a full, bushy beard, a distinctive mole under his left eye and was missing his right eyebrow.
At the time of the assault he wore a dark long sleeved shirt under a light colored short sleeved shirt and dark pants. The suspect spoke English but had what the victim described as a slight Spanish accent, police said.
The other two suspects were only described as a black male and a Hispanic male.
Police asked anyone with information concerning the assault to contact the Sex Crimes Unit at (619) 531-2210, or to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
