OCEANSIDE (CNS) - A man was stabbed in the chest in a violent road rage incident Saturday in Oceanside, and police were on the lookout for the two men responsible.
David Holland, 24, was stabbed about 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the 4400 block of San Joaquin Street during a fight that began as a road rage incident, Oceanside Lt. Leonard Cosby said. Holland was treated for a single stab wound to the chest at Palomar Hospital and police said he was expected to survive.
The incident began at a stoplight on College Boulevard near State Route 76, when two Hispanic men in a black vehicle pulled beside Holland's gold Volvo and began yelling at Holland and his passenger, Cosby said.
The men then followed Holland as he turned onto Route 76 and eventually ended up in a neighborhood about four miles away, in the 4400 block of San Joaquin Street.
Holland exited his vehicle and began to fight with the two men while Holland's passenger stayed in the car, and during the fight the incident was reported to Oceanside police, Cosby said. As officers were responding to the call, they received another call of a stabbing victim in the 4500 block of North River Road.
Officers found Holland in the driver's seat of the gold Volvo stopped in the 4500 block of North River Road, Cosby said. Holland had returned to his car and drove away after the fight, then stopped on North River Road when he realized he had been stabbed.
The only description available of the suspects was two Hispanic men driving a black two-door vehicle.
