A military pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at MCAS Miramar Friday night after running into some problems in the air.

The emergency landing occurred just after 5:30 p.m. Friday.

A base spokesperson said the pilot of the FA-18 was able to land without any problems. But emergency crews were on stand-by as a precaution.

The pilot was not injured in the incident, and there was no word on what prompted the emergency landing.
