SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - One of the fastest growing sports in the United States is Disc Golf. There are 25-hundred courses across the country with the latest opening just last week in Santee. CBS News 8's Jeff Zevely traveled to Mast Park to give the sport a whirl.
The San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club partnered with the City of Santee to install baskets for the nine-hole course at Mast Park.
All nine baskets (plus a practice basket) are in the ground, ready to play. Tee locations for all nine holes are currently marked with sprinkler flags (red = short tees, blue = long tees). Rubber mats to be added over the next several weeks.
The nine basket course is open to the public and free.
Founded in 2007 the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of disc golf and fostering a sense of community for disc golfers in the greater San Diego area.
