SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Some chefs in San Diego are turning left overs into a chic dining experience.

San Diego Food System Alliance is looking to stop all the waste through a series of 'Unwasted Food' pop-up dinners called Re:Source where local chefs and partner restaurants will prepare dishes from ignored or 'un-coveted' food that would otherwise go to waste.

CBS News 8's Ashley Jacobs, in the above video, reports from Mission Hills and shows you how these pop up restaurants are helping the environment.
