San Diego police are looking for a man who hit another man in the head with a shotgun and then fired the weapon at the victim's roommate.
The suspect and the victim were in the garage of the victim's house on the 3300 block of North Mountain View Drive when an argument broke out around 11:45 a.m. Saturday, said San Diego police Sgt. Diane Wendell.
The suspect, who was carrying a shotgun under his sweater, hit the victim in the head with the shotgun, she said.
The victim screamed and his roommate came out and chased the suspect on foot, according to Wendell. During the foot chase, the suspect fired one shot at the roommate and missed, she said.
The suspect fled in an unknown type of vehicle, Wendell said.
Police officers searched for the suspect on foot and were later joined by a patrol dog and the police helicopter, according to police dispatchers.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, with short dark hair and a goatee, about 180 pounds, around 5-foot 8- inches tall, according to police dispatchers. The shooting suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes, according to dispatchers.
Initial dispatch reports said the victim was bleeding from the stomach and was possibly shot, but his medical condition was not officially available.
