SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Local high School students visited one of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's Helicopters.

Copter-2 touched down at Sweetwater High School in National City Tuesday afternoon.

The visit was part of the school's Health and Fire Science Academy.

It is a two-and-half year program designed to show students all the opportunities that come with a career as a first responder.

The National City Fire Department sponsors the academy, and this year offered scholarships to three students.
