San Diego State University police were investigating today a sexual battery that occurred outside an off-campus apartment complex, it was reported.

The victim told SDSU police that she was attacked by a man on a sidewalk in front of the Campanile Apartments on Montezuma Road early Friday evening, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

She described her attacker as Latino, around 5 feet 8, with a stocky build and thin dark hair, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. He fled southbound on Campanile Drive in an older white vehicle, possibly a station wagon, the newspaper reported.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call SDSU police at (619) 594-1991.
