The search for a missing Escondido teen has been called off. Police say they're waiting until they get better leads, before looking again.

Meantime, investigators have learned that a friend of Amber Dubois talked to her Friday morning on her cell phone, while she walked to Escondido High School. It's the last time anyone heard from Dubois.

Investigators haven't been able to trace her cell phone or any credit card use.

But, witnesses say they did spot amber near Palomar Hospital Saturday night and again on Sunday.

Amber's family and friends are pushing for the search to go nationwide.
