LA MESA (CNS) - La Mesa police Wednesday were investigating a robbery in which two men stole laptop computers from a Best Buy store at gunpoint.

The robbery at 8401 Fletcher Parkway occurred just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to La Mesa police.

Two men entered the store, picked up laptop computers and began to walk out without paying, police said.

An employee confronted the pair and one of the thieves pulled out a handgun and told the employee to get out of the way, police said. The employee complied and the men ran out the front door, across Fletcher Parkway, ultimately fleeing in a red Chevrolet Camaro convertible.

A customer waiting outside Best Buy in anticipation of the store's upcoming Black Friday sale assisted police with a description of the getaway car and suspects. A short time later, a vehicle believed to getaway car was found unoccupied in the 7900 block of El Cajon Boulevard, police said.

Police said the suspects are Hispanic men in their 20s. One is about 6 feet and 180 pounds, last seen wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt with a white "Fox" emblem and a green "Monster" emblem, police said. The other suspect is about 5 foot 11 and 200 pounds, last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a white "South Pole" emblem and carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.
