SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - SeaWorld's penguin encounter is going strong after more than three decades, and they are getting ready to welcome even more additions to their already large family.

Many of the five different penguin species were born at SeaWorld in San Diego, and keeping the public connected with penguins is a big part of why the Penguin Encounter was created 30-years-ago.

CBS News 8's Matt Johnson made one of his boyhood dreams come true when he visited the penguins and some of the new chicks at SeaWorld.

Watch Matt's video report above as he reports on the progress the Penguin Encounter has made over the past three decades.
