SAN DIEGO (CNS/CBS 8) - Seven people were injured, several seriously, in a chain-reaction series of collisions on a Lake Murray-area street Monday afternoon, authorities reported.
The accident in the 8700 block of Lake Murray Boulevard was reported shortly after 4 p.m., according to San Diego police.
Witnesses said as many as six vehicles were involved in the wreck, which left four adults and three children injured, SDPD Lt. Andra Brown said. One child was flown by Mercy Air to a trauma center. Several children apparently were among those injured, Brown said.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, though one of the involved motorists reportedly was driving recklessly and at high speed just before it occurred.
