SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - According to a spokesman for the MTS a sinkhole has developed under the eastbound tracks between Schley Street and 28th Street near the Harborside Station Blue Line.

A train operator reported the sink hole on Monday at 7:14 am.

MTS says a Line Supervisor and a track crew were dispatched.

The eastbound track has been removed from service until further evaluations have been completed.

Passengers should expect the trolley trains to be delayed 5-10 minutes. The normal 15-minute service schedule is still operating.

Single track operations have been implemented and a 10 MPH restriction has been placed on the westbound side of the tracks according to the MTS. Riders can contact the MTS Information and Trip Planning Office at 619-233-3004 or follow updates on Twitter.com/sdmts.
